About the Pub
If you are lucky you can grab a tall stool in the window of this popular bar and watch the shoppers flocking in and out of the St. James shopping centre across the road. The huge windows slide back to give an outdoor effect. The half circle bar is decorated in tile and studded metal and on the wall behind are two small waterfeatures. Dotted about are a few pillars with lots of plants overhanging them. At the rear of the bar, up three steps, is an area of tables and chairs where you can enjoy a Tapas meal and listen to the Spanish/Cuban music. Downstairs there is a very small nightclub. During the festival it has been known for bellydancing demos and lessons to be given here! The main bar serves a selection of beers and Guinness with a big cocktail list and a decent wine list. Happy hour is 4-7p.m. Mon to Thurs and
4-9p.m. on Friday. This is a good bar for the stag/hen parties and the place is buzzing at weekends.

Ms Cameron
Not Great!!!!
Started drinking in QBar about 4 years ago when they had brilliant staff and management and the place was actually clean!!!
Now it seems to be a place for jakies and drop outs during the day and at night it is quite scary, and before anyone says anything i drink in some rough pubs but this place is a joke and should implement some rules at least!!! All in all it isnt what it used to be and i would recommend giving it a wide berth and just head to omni centre for decent, clean bars (with nice sorry working toilets) and nice staff both security and bar staff.

Paul Brown
Racist Bar
There is a sort of dictatorship run by door staff (nearly all are fascist) the management seem scared of these bully boys I have been on three separate occasions and watched there tactics seem to be look for old small or people they think wont cause trouble and then victimise them this is truly an awful place and should be closed down

Setting the record straight.
We at Q-Bar have read the following comments and feel that we should set the record straight concerning our doorstaff situation!! The dorrstaff involved in the Racial incident and all previous incidents are no longer employed at Qbar. The thoughts and actions of the doormen in question DO NOT reflect the policies of the Management team.We can only apologise for their actions and ensure that these incidents will never be repeated. We have new doorstaff employed now to bring the bar back to the fun, lively atmosphere that youi can only find in Q-Bar. Do not let the opinions of one set of men cast a shadow on what is a welcoming Bar to all.
We are proud of the fact that we have one of the largest spectrum of regular clientele in Edinburgh and plan on keeping it that way.Thank you for your time.
