This local pub has a lot to offer and is a verry warm welcoming to people that arnt even locals it is a verry cosy little pub with a coal fire and a quiet snug all of the locals are verry welcoming expecually the 2 boxer dogs, the kids you see them verry exasionally as they are quietly upstairs minding their own buisness but will come down to say a hello and pop down the shop to get some sweeties other then that they are out of your way. the dogs are verry friendly and sweet their is a 1 out of 1000000 chance of them biting
the land lord and land lady are verry kind and warming they did not know me or my back ground but still treated me as a local i think every 1 and any 1 should definatly consider gettin a drink or 2 at this pub and havbe a warm and welcoming welcome as i did

Alan Ely
Cosy and Welcoming
I visited the Duke of Wellington Saturday afternoon, 7 Jan 06.
I could tell when I walked in, that it had a good atmosphere, which was further enhanced by a real fire.
Considering he had never seem me before and didn't know me from Adam I received quite a warm welcome from the landlord and an even warmer one, from his two young boxer dogs.
Over a few pints of really good Arkells 3Bs, straight from the barrel I got chatting to some of the locals.
Soon after sitting down, I even had waitress service. The larger of the two boxers joined me on the seat and fell asleep with his head on my lap. Everyone present seemed to agree , that it would been a shame to disturb him.
The following day I took a friend with me, who also seemed to also like the place. Even though I live two miles away, I will probably make it my local

Regulars only.
Small and unwelcoming. This pub is obviously only frequented by 'regulars' and it feels like going into someone's living room for a drink. Probably fine if you are of an open and friendly disposition, but I didn't feel welcome.
