Jimbo yo ol' sex machine
James Brown surely no one spells that badly in real life.I smell a 'canard'.If you have just visited this pub for the first time under the new regime, how do you know old regulars from new regulars, and remaining regulars from irregular regulars ,and whats with the dog phobia? I'm sure you had a good meal at the Bistro, but this was once a PUB

Thebeer Policeman
James Brown et al,you obviously never visited 'the Rising Sun ' at its zenith when beers from every continent were available,as you would then understand CHOICE and have some perspective .Peroni is an also ran lager served in italian restaurants and priced as such.

Bistro Lever du Soleil
Backwards and forwards..and then backwards again........all this rubbish written is simple to interpret !! If you require a meal in a back street bistro : try this establishment. If you are a decerning drinker who enjoys a decent reasonably priced pint in a local local Pub don't bother using this establishment, find somewhere else as I do: there are several within a few hundred metres!

Can't spell
It's a shame James Brown can't spell but I guess that's what happens when you're speaking rubbish from the grave. I hope he was greeted pleasantly on his arrival there (or should that be greated pleasently on arival?)

FACE UP YO THE FACTS
HAVING READ THE COMMENTS FROM A FEW DIFFERENT WEB SITES ON THE NEW RISING SUN I THOUGHT IT MAY BE WORTH A VISIT JUST TO SEE WHAT PEOPLE ARE ARGUING ABOUT.

ON ARIVAL I WAS GREATED PLEASENTLY BY A NUMBER OF SMART STAFF IN WHAT WAS A BUSY PUB. I ENJOYED A PINT OF PERONI WHICH IS A RAREITY TO FIND ON DRAUGHT !! SO MANY PEOPLE MOANING ABOUT NO CHOICE WHEN THERE IS CLEARLY MORE THAN A NORMAL PUB HAS TO OFFER . THE RISING SUN IS ANYTHING BUT SOUL LESS AS SOME PEOPLE HAVE QUOTED. THE OLD BEER BRIGADE THAT USED TO FREQUENT HAVE GONE AND THE OLD LOCALS THAT STILL COME THINK IT IS 200% BETTER NOW. LOOK OUT FOR SLATINGS FROM PILGRIM BREWERY ON WEBSITES AS HE WAS THE PREVIOUS TENNANT !! GOT NOTHING BETTER TO DO MATE ??? - MY WIFE AND I ENJOYED A FABULOUS MEAL IN THE COSY RESTERANT AREA AT THE REAR OF THE PUB. I HAD VENISON WHICH WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION AND PRESENTED BEAUTIFULLY. MY WIFE HAD SEA BASS IN AN ORIENTAL STYLE JUS AWSOME. ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND US SEAMED TO BE ENJOYING EVERYTHING AS MUCH AS US AND PEOPLE WAITING FOR TABLES TO EAT !!!!

OVER ALL I CANT RATE THIS PUB/REST ENOUGH . IN THE LOCAL AREA I KNOW NOT OF A BETTER PLACE TO DRINK AND EAT. SO FACE FACTS OUT WITH THE OLD IN A VERRY WARM WELCOME TO THE NEW.

The Rising Sun
Opinion seems to be strongly divided between those that love the new Rising Sun and those that really don't. For the benefit of the latter camp I'd like to suggest an alternative - The White Horse. It's everything the Rising Sun used to be; a friendly independent local with a selection of International beers and a traditional British pub menu.

Super Find
Best pub in Epsom. I visited this pub several days ago and it really is a super find. The range of Ales was lovely a real treat to see wheat and blonde beer on offer as well, the friendly staff were most accomodating and the food was outstanding and the prices where very reasonable for such quality and size. The toilets are all brand new and clean as is the rest of the interior, the christmas decorations have gone up already and look superb. And its got the added bonus of being non smoking so the atmosphere is much fresher.
Certainly worth a visit.

What a gem
This was my first visit to the Rising Sun and i found it a wonderful experience, the food was excellent and great value for money - Sunday Roast a must have. i also found the choice of beers was superb with a range for everyone, the christmas decorations were stunning - worth every penny, bar staff were attentive, polite and welcoming.

No atmosphere
The pub has sadly lost its unique and friendly atmosphere since the takeover by Young's. Now just another bland chain pub with a restricted choice of beers.

Pilgrim Brewery
A sad loss
Please note that following its’ purchase by Young’s Pub Company the Rising Sun now only stocks the standard products supplied by that company.

Get there quick it could be your last chance
The Rising Sun is a first class pub with an unrivalled choice of fine beers and lagers from around the world. Now sadly threated with closure due to Youngs taking over the lease and imposing their dogma on yet another pub. Join the fight!! http://www.savetheriser.org
