Southern Softies
A cosy place
We walked in the Dressers for the first time in 5 years recently, and was pleased to see nothing had really changed. Good and bad.
We heard the pompous loud corner near the ladies loo's was unfortunatley still there before we walked in the door. Seriously if they hang around blocking the ladies toilets like a bunch of sad little school boys, the next time we are in, I will aim a stiletto where it hurts !!!!
That aside it was nice to go back in. Not too sure about the quality of the food ( we just called in for a drink - expensive), but you do get large portions.
There was a large selection of ales and largers, but as we had 2 real 'CAMRA experts' with us they were not happy with the hand pulls, and the largers were too warm. Men !! The wine was also expensive.
We will call in again before we head off 'down sarf', but joking apart PLEASE move those pillocks from around the ladies loos - it does nothing for the pub and does honestly put women off going back to the pub as we have to force our way through every time.
If you want to turn it into a gay bar and exclude women then fine keep it as it is - if you want to keep a balanced clientele coming back, then do something about it please. You would have got a 4 out of 5, but due to the above you get a 1 !!

Dressers Arms
Had dinner at The Dressers Arms on Tuesday 18 Aug 09. Not been there for many years but I always thought it was a great little place. Got a bit worried when i saw some negative comments on here, but they were quite old so we decided to give it a go, and i'm very glad we did!
The atmosphere was as friendly and 'cosy' as ever and the restaurant manager very hospitable, even bringing us flowers freshly picked from the garden for our table!
Food was also excellent, and the tuna was exceptional - thank you chef! We will definitely be going there again

Been here several times and it is your average poorly run pub.It doen't matter how many 'punters' are waiting to be served;the manager just sits at the end of the bar looking at them. The food is very average ,and like the bar, overpriced considering the low standards.Would recommend a change of management.

Campari soda
I asked for a capari soda, the bar assistant didn't know what I was taking about and what I thought could be the owner sat at end of the bar and said nothing.
The red wine was undrinkable.
However, the beer was good although a bit expensive
