Awful service and the food is not much better.
Third and last time! To be honest this was a late booking, we tried to get into the Fishermans Rest at Titchfield and could not, but the The Osborne had space - that she had given me an early warning and the fact that we have had two previous disappointing visits - but our daughter just got news of a University place and so we wanted to celebrate so took the booking.

I will not go on, but the service on all three visits has been awful, this time we were in for two hours for just two courses and no check backs; which was probably deliberate as I would have been sending the food back to the kitchens; the food is your basic pub grub which is warmed up and crucified but charged at gastro pub prices, so not worth it!

So what I have learned over my three visits, book in early at The Fishermans Rest and get gastro pub food at normal pub food prices.

Take the review for what it is, you pay your money and make your choice, but for 120 I expect better service and far better food; though to be fair we were probably the last table in, so it must be fair play to serve the kitchen left overs!

Just awful, the Reeves Family.

Disaster
Went for a meal yesterday. Awful experience. Waited 30 minutes for waitress to take order, then we had to ask. Soup was awful, too salty. The main course was awful, tasted like warmed up chips and scampi. Also had to wait 30 mins for this to arrive, couldn't finish it. Back door was continuously being opened sending awful draft through room, had to wear a coat it was so cold. Will never go there again. The view was lovely though.

Disaster
Waited over 30 mins for a simple lunch, then only arrived after we had taken another 10 mins to catch eye of a waiter. Then they took money and did not bring back any change. Phoned Manager to complain that day (2 weeks ago) and he said all the right things and promised to get back - guess what no call. Avoid would be my recommendation. gave a 1 rating as food was of an acceptable standard, nothing for service or manager

nice view
Took my dad for a meal there on Fathers Day, it was awful but he enjoys the view from there so we took him again on Tuesday this week to celebrate his 83rd birthday. The staff were brilliant but once again the food was awful. The whitebait and calamari were overcooked. The chicken/leek pie pastry was dry and the carrots rubbery. The mixed grill steak & gammon were disappointing and there was no chop with the mixed grill. Unfortunately chefs do not seem to have the necessary training these days probably because all the food is microwaved. We will not be eating there again.

what a disaster
We took visitors for a meal on 16th July at 8.30; the starters were brill, the bottle of wine was warm, the steak was all gristle, bubble and squeak does NOT contain turnip, Eton Mess should actually have meringue in it and lemon syllabub is not squirty articial cream layered with lemon curd! Wish I had read this page before booking and I would have suggested going to the local Beefeater or Harvester!!!

Nice enough but won't hurry back
Lunchtime meal, fairly busy, food did not take long to arrive and service was good.

Measly portion for main but the dessert was big disappointment. Sticky toffee pudding was dry with little sauce and looked like it had come out of a tin accompanied by a very small scoop of ice-cream. At over 4 this really was not value for money.

Views are spectacular but certainly not worth the prices charged for mediocre food.

Won't be going back and would not recommend eating there.

Such a let down
The staff need to listen to what people say - we weren't alone in complaining, but they know people will turn up for the beautiful views and are blase about comments and not at all conscious of the appallingly slow service. when the food arrived it was not hot. So disappointed - we really wanted this to be a lovely evening.

what a disappointing evening. Food arrived just warm after 70 minutes. The manager is arrogantly dismissive of people's comments and needs to be more customer focused - but he knows people will turn up for the views. Such a shame.

Dropped in last week to see if there was any improvement from the last time we were there. Had to wait over an hour for our food. We also had a coupon for a mini pud (good publicity idea) but we didn't realize that mini also applied to the main meal. Very disappointed - will leave it another year before we 'might' try it again. Pity as the location is great.....

The Osborne view could be a great pub, with it's lovely views.
But It's not.
The service is awful.
We waited an hour and a quarter for our meal. When it arived It was
berly warme.and of poor quality.
We waited another half an hour for
our dessert
We were hoping to see the fireworks at Cowes, so booked a table. I couldn't beleve that the staff were allowing people who had just come in for a drink, stand by the tables in the restaurant area and use our table to put their drinks on, also standing in front of us obstructing any view we might have had. I was hoping for a romantic evening with my wife, but it was more like sitting in a railway waiting room.
It turned out to be a very dissappointing eveneing and one that I won't be repeating.

Great location but do not eat the food!!!
I am a local and have eaten at this pub many times and every time I always say I would never eat in there again. I have not eaten in this pub since before Christmas 2009, heard the had new managment. My friend visited me yesterday from London we were going to eat at gunwharf but decided to try Osborne as it was such a fantastic day. Sat at the Terrace decking area which was fantastic. We ordered a Lardey Board and Mezza as they had no sandwich on the menu. The food arrived and it was very poor, the dips had a crusty coating where they had been sitting around, the roasted vegetables consisted of a few onions and aubergines that had been cooked in a microwave with no oil, the tossed salad was a few very brown lettuce leaves without any dressing...only tossed in water, the olives were a few dried up black ones, a couple of microwaved pitter bread, garlic bread..the list goes on but it was discusting and I could not actually eat it. We were also not provided with plates and had to eat the meal on napkins. I promise you that this pub has not changed and you really should not eat here. It is very inconsistant and I have complained many times to the management and the Brewery's head office. They have a fantastic location and therefore rely on the trade this brings. DO NOT EAT HERE BEWARE!!!!

Went for my son-in-law's 30 Birthday last night. 29/06/10
Were told there was a bit of a wait - ordered at 7.45 and got food at 9pm. Small portions, luke warm no garnish. Dessert took half an hour 2 large brownies ok but the smallest scoop of icecream you ever did see. Beautiful location and views. Just need to get organised and employ more staff. Will not go again

Hit and miss
Being pretty much a regular, the Osborne is a great place but do try and go there when it's not heaving (weekend evenings or public holidays). There aren't many staff on so they're usually running around with their hair on fire. We've had experiences where it was the best food ever and the most wonderful atmosphere, and times when the fries and veg were cold, the meat very fatty/bland, the wait interminable and the staff outright rude. It's serendipity whether you'll enjoy it or not but the beer is excellent and the decor and view lovely. Well worth taking the risk.

Poor service
Good food. Fantastic location and stunning views across the Solent.

But be prepared to wait too long for your food. Waited 40 mins for starters and then nearly an hour for the main course. Add onto that a further 25 mins for your desert and you're hanging around for quite some time.

I know you go out to dine to experience the whole ambiance - but when you're left waiting too long for your food, it takes the shine off it.

This is the second time we've experienced this poor service.

As I was paying the bill, a fellow diner was complaining of having to wait for over an hour for their main course. Give the staff their due, they refunded the price of the main course - but surely it would be better to get the service right?

We just turned up on the off chance on a very busy weekend afternoon, we have never eaten there before and we thought the food was wonderful. I find it hilarious that you 'reviewers' on here moan about the service and your food but have you ever considered that the waiters and bar staff are extremely tired and constantly overworked. If you want to complain about the fact you had to wait an hour for your food then instead of yelling at the people who are trying their best to help you enjoy your experience. Ask the brewery and head office why the hell they think that for a pub of the osbornes size it is acceptable to employ so little staff members.

The Osborne View was the location of a family gathering on Saturday, so was not my choice (actually I had never heard of it). Wonderful
I have been to this pub on several occations over the last few years. Ihave to say I have never had a bad experience, yes when its busy you can wait a bit but I have never waite more than about 1/2 an hour for food (which has always been very good). The bar staff have always been very efficient & friendly and the waiters have always been attentive & equally friendly. I could not recomend this pub enough, is it perfect? No, but it isn't far off in terms of the view, the food & the staff. If only other pubs were this good this often.

Whatever people say about bad service is probably just telling of their attitude to teh staff there. WE've been several times and the service is outstanding. One waitress rememebred our order (7 people) off by heart, the food came quickly and fi there was a delay it amde no difference; we'd gone out for family meals on all occasions and enjoyed each other's company and the wonderful food. Rather than waste time complaining just enjoy being in teh prime location by the sea and enjoy teh excepllent service and enjoyt eh family or qulaity friend time.

A long wait for food which ended in disappointment
We went to this pub for lunch today and arrived shortly after 12. We ordered drinks at the bar and was served by a very abrupt and unfriendly barman who had no idea what eye contact is, even when he was speaking to you.

We then finally ordered food, my husband ordered from the ordinary menu and I opted for the 3 course lunch. We waited about half an hour for the starters to arrive which were ok but then had to wait for another hour for the main course to arrive. When it did the tuna was over cooked and dry sat on a bed of soggy vegetables that were swimming in oil. My dish of chicken, salad and chips left a lot to be desired. The salad was dry and wilted as if it had been on the plate all morning and the chips might as well have been wood chips. When the waiter did the 5 minute check my husband complained and the waiter went off to speak to the manager. The waiter refunded the cost of my husbands food but we still left the pub feeling very disappointed. What we had planned to be a relaxing lunch turned out to be a stressfull clock watching afternoon that could not be considered enjoyable.

We have decided that this pub is ideal for a drink and somewhere to relax and enjoy the view but we will never eat here again.

disappointing food and appalling service
We had to wait over an hour and a half for our starters to arrive, after more than 4 complaints.During this time, we were not offered complimentary drinks or given a small side dish to pick at. I am 16 weeks pregnant and ended up being violently sick as my blood sugars dropped so low - something which the staff did not seem to bothered about. When the food finally arrived, we were so ravenous we cleared our plates, despite the food being tepid and over-cooked. We then had to wait another hour (and complain a further 3 times) for our main courses to arrive. Again, no offer of complimentary drinks. One of the meals was sent back as the steak, which should have been medium-cooked, was burnt to a crisp and inedible. My salmon fish cakes looked and tasted like they had come out of a packet and were swimming in a buttery sauce which left them soggy and greasy. The chips and peas were stone cold too. My dessert, which should have been an apple and blackcurrant crumble , was all crumble, no fruit. When you pay $10.50 for a three course meal, you don't expect a gourmet dining experience however you do not expect to be served inedible food. I have tasted better food in school canteens and onboard aeroplanes. Serisouly - everything about the place (other than the decor and stunning views) was shockingly sub-standard. The WORST place I have ever dined and certainly have no intention of ever returning. My advise to anyone? Give this one a miss.

Met friends for lunch here today (Saturday), very busy with stunning sunny views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. The food took an hour to come and when it did the French Fries were cold... Lasagne, scampi, overcooked sausages and mash. Come on guys all you need to do is reheat them, ,seemed like it was all a bit lazy.

What a fantastic place to eat, with stunning views across the solent to the Isle of Wight. We went there Friday evening and were soon seated by a very helpful lady. We ordered our food,Starters and Mains. The starters were soon cooked and absolutely delicious. Our very attentive waitress then cleared our empty plates and we did not have long to wait until our mains arrived beautifully cooked, hot and tasty. Dessert was just as good. The staff although rushed off their feet due to it being Cowes firework night and having so many customers, in our view were great Polite friendly and helpful. We are looking foreward to the next time we have a meal there Well Done Everyone.

Great Location, iew - Shame about the food ...
Went for Sunday lunch - lovely looking pub with great views, though seems to be more of a lager pub than a beer place which is what this location deserves.

We ordered food, then waited 45 mins before asking the staff to chase up our order. Eventually got our dishes 10 mins later.

One dish was lukewarm and disappointing, the other one seemed to have been re-heated and was pretty poor for the prices charged. I saw several burgers go to a nearby table and 10 minutes later saw them all make there way back to the kitchen, pretty much untouched. The table behind us also had to ask the staff where their food was.

This is a large establishment, with a big menu, trying to cater for a large number of clients. Clearly, on this Sunday, they were not able to cope with the quantity of people through the door ordering food, and the quality suffered badly.

Perhaps they should restrict food to a certain area of the pub and a certain number of covers, to keep it to a manageable level, or get Gordon Ramsey in to sort them out.

We may go back for drinks sometime and to enjoy the view, but would not eat here again, in the foreseeable future.

I cant believe the last entry. I was there the same night and I can tell you there was a large group near the door swearing behaving agressivly and then finally came to blows with a family who had had dinner at the pub and was trying to leave. If it hadn't been for the landlady intervening there could have been a nasty incident. I also can't understand the comments about the food. Since the menu change the quality and speed of the food has dramatically improved, the staff are always polite and we go there because there isnt normally any trouble.

Garbage
Went on a Saturday nite about 8 with my father in-law, it was fairly busy but not packed. Got a table easy enough and ordered a couple drinks. We ordered some food which arrived in about 40 minutes, not bad I suppose. My father in-law had the steak and tanglefoot pie, looked great, unfortunatley I ordered the 8oz sirloin steak with tomato, field mushroom, fries and peas. I've had a Mc Donalds with more beef and the field mushroom was about the size of a 50p cut in half, this was complemented by a dozen cold fries and a miniscule tomato all for a princly sum of 10.95. What a rip off. There was also nearly a fight with a load of girls blouses at the front door; too which rambo and the other bar staff tried to look tough but failed badly. Handbags were raised but never used in anger. Company was great, caberet was entertaining but the food was cr*p. Take my advice, go to the Talisman in Tichfield Common, same menu, same beer, better atmosphere if you can get a parking space it is very busy, says it all really.

Dogs should not be allowed in pubs or anywhere near where food is served. People with animals need to respect other peoples feelings.. I am a dog lover but would not dream of taking my dog to a restaurant. They are not human although some people treat them as such. It is quite disgusting to have animals in a restaurant.

MacDonalds with optional beer!
A great pity that since the refurbishment, this pub has become a busy restaurant with no local atmosphere and a pretty poor choice of beers. Visitors arrive, wait considerable time to get served food, then go. Given its lovely location by the beach, it could be a tin shack and people would still come from miles around.

Lunch Hour!
On one of the very rare occasions we were able to take a full hour for lunch we decided to eat at the Osbourne, it was a Wednesday and very quiet so thought an hour would be long enough. How wrong could we have been. We placed our order at the bar and took our drinks to the table and enjoyed the view. After 45 minutes a waitress came to us to tell us that we should only have to wait another 15 minutes, we told her how long we had already been waiting and she told us that we were told at the time of ordering that we would be waiting at least 30 minutes, we were not told this. Another 25 minutes passed and still no lunch, we were already late getting back to work so asked for a refund, this request wasn't received well and suffice to say we have not been back since. As we were leaving 2 huge 3663 trucks were outside delivering supplies!
It is such a pity as the Osbourne enjoys a beautiful location and we would definately use it regularly both for business lunches and
with friends and family if the service was better.

Made to feel very unwelcome
We have been to the Osbourne View on a number of occasions, mainly because they have always been very dog-friendly. However, they have recently adopted (in my view) a rather stupid rule that, although dogs are allowed in the garden and the ground floor, they are not allowed on the stairs that link the two! Our (very small) dog is rather old now and a little unsteady on her legs so we were carrying her towards the stairs when an extremely officious young man shot across the pub to inform us in a rather unpleasant way that we would have to take the dog back outside around the back in order to reach the garden. I pointed out that we were actually carrying the dog and that I understood dogs were allowed in that part of the pub. He just repeated that we would have to go outside with her. All this discussion meant that the dog was actually in the pub for far longer than she would have been had he just let us through! Whilst I helped my elderly mother-in-law down the stairs, my husband had to walk about 200 yards around the back which entailed walking along the shingly beach and climbing over two breakwaters! Whilst I fully accept some pubs must restrict dogs, I wish they would make this clear and not adopt some hairbrained rule that seems to exist solely to make some customers feel unwelcome. (I must say, the other members of staff were extremely helpful and polite and I am taking issue here only with this jobsworth and the actual policy.) On another subject, we were lucky to arrive early and get one of the few tables on the decked area as these were the only ones with sun umbrellas. The tables on the grass had no shade and we were told the staff did not have any umbrellas to put out. So if you have small children, be aware they may be sitting in full sun throughout the entirety of your visit.

Fantastic Night Out
A friend of ours invited us to the Osborne View for her Birthday. We looked it up on the Internet to see where it was and was a bit alarmed when we came across this website which gave it some very mixed reviews. 8 of us turned up last night and the staff immediately re-positioned some tables so we could all sit together. We were amazed at the speed of the service. The starters were served within five minutes of us ordering and the main meal was promptly server once the starter dishes had been cleared. The girl that served us was friendly and charming and could not do enough to make us feel comfortable. We will definitely be going there again!

Awful Service
I happen not to be a drinker. I have to pay the price of beer for a pint of coke, which is something I have learned to accept. However...

I ordered a pint of coke at the Osbourne View, and received a3/4 pint measure, served in a clearly marked pint glass. I then challeneged the bar staff, who told me there was a small and large on their machine, and that had I wanted Ice and Lemon that the glass would have been full.

At 2.15 for 1 pint of watered down, bad tasting coke I was a little annoyed at this response. I asked them to top it up and they flat refused. I then requested a receipt so I could see what I had paid for...

Coke 20OZ, which to my mind is 1pint. A pint measure glass should be filled to the appropriate level I would presume. As I was there with friends I returned to my table after being told that once again, for the 4th time of visiting they had no curley fries.

My second drink was the same. A 3/4 full glass was placed in front of me. With my previous receipt and a good deal of frustration from the poor attitude of the staff I was determined not to be short changed. I asked my server this time to top up my pint, and he grudgingly did so.

If that was beer, and he gave a short measure, or even too much head in many cases, bar staff would rightly expect to be told about it and sturnly asked to sort it out on many occasions. Why should coke be any different! At the price they charge for coke, it should also taste like there is some 'fizz' in it, and some coke, but it just tasted like sweet water, which happened to be brown.

This is by far and away not the first time I have been let down here. I have ordered food on two seperate occasions, which has been forgotten and has had to be re-ordered.

We booked prior to the recent refit a large party, for around 30 people in the conservatory. It was an 18th Birthday party with family from around the country. The first main course arrived an hour before the last, with half of the people having finished their food before some had received theirs.

The Children's meals were the last to be brought out, which as anybody reading this can imagine is not the way to have calm, quiet well behaved children in your establishment.

The views are stunning, and it is convenient to me, but after each visit i find myself wishing the swordfish was still standing, or that there was another good local alternative.

15 of us turned up at the Osborne View at 12 noon 12/2/06 after visiting Solent Coastguard offices. Although all tables were reserved we were advised that 1 table for 10 was available till 2.00 pm. If we could order quickly and be away by then it would be ok for us to use it. There was no objections by the staff when we rearranged the table to fit in the extra chairs. Our food was ordered and arrived within 20 minutes. All staff were polite and courteous. I have not been here for some time and think the refurbishment has made a vast improvement. Would definitely go again and recommend others to go.

DONT EAT HERE RUBBISH SERVICE
YES THE PUB IS A VERY NICE BUILDING, YES THIS PUB DOES HAVE GREAT VIEWS........HOWEVER THE STAFF WHO WORK THERE ARE NOT ONLY RUDE BUT VERY POOR AT DOING A GOOD JOB. I WAS VERY VERY ANNOYED AT HAVING TO WAIT ONE HOUR FOR MY FOOD WHEN THERE WAS ONLY A 30 MIN WAITING TIME ON DISPLAY, IN A VERY EMPTY PUB. NOT ONLY WAS THE FOOD A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THE MONEY I PAID FOR IT. SMALL PORTIONS AND THE FOOD WAS ONLY MILD WARM, WHICH MADE ME EVEN MORE ANGRY!!!! EVERYTIME I WENT TO THE BAR TO ORDER A DRINK I SEEMED TO GET COMPLETELY BLANKED BY THE STAFF SERVING AND WAS ALWAYS ONE OF THE LAST PERSON TO BE SERVED!!!! WHY???? I REMEBER TAKING MY MUM TO THIS PUB A FEW YEARS AGO AND HAVING A LOVELY TIME THERE. NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO DISGUSTED IN MY LIFE AT THE SERVICE I RECEIVED I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE OSBOURNE VIEW AGAIN IT HAS RUINED ITS OWN REPUTATION. ITS USED TO BE A NICE PLACE A FEW YEARS AGO, NOW I WOULD RATHER SPEND MY MONEY AT TAKEAWAYS FRIENDLY SERVICE QUICK FOOD. OR EVEN BETTER GO TO THE OLD SHIP DOWN THE ROAD BIGGER MEALS HALF THE PRICE GREAT SERVICE.

PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO READ THIS DONT GO TO THE OSBOURNE VIEW SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY!!!!

Fantastic
Firstly what a view! Even on a wet & miserable day, there is nothing like having a great pint of beer whilst watching the brave kite surfers try there stunts on the solent. Over the last few months having recently moved to the area my family & I have become more or less regulars. We have eaten at the Oz. on many occasions & have never had to wait an inapropriate amount of time, we have always enjoyed the food, which has always arrived looking good, tasting great & hot. I must say that I was quite annoyed at some of the other messages on this site. I have met both Paul & Jenny and would certainly not classify them as rude. Looking at the other comments they were either within the first couple of weeks of opening or seem to be led by some imagined slight, personaly I would be over the moon to be asked for I.D. Without wittering on forever, the pub is great, the staff are great, the fact that there is a bar in the garden on hot summerdays is great, the occational events at the pub are great (This New Years Eve was the best I have ever attended), the views are great & the food is great. Overall fantastic.

Age Discriminant, Rude Staff!!!!
Went to the Osbourne view for a meal on the 7th Jan at around 5o'clock. Was immediately greeted by a very rude man asking me for I.D, having not even removed my coat let alone ordered anything i was a little annoyed to be greeted in this way. After close inspection of my driver's license I was told I was not to drink alcohol as I only held a provisional license. This was only part of the problem. After waiting 20mins for a lukewarm starter we then had to wait a further 50mins-an hour for our main meal! Whilst waiting my partner who is 24 ordered some drinks for which he had to wait for 10mins to be served at a quiet bar. By the time we recieved our main meal the restaurant was empty!! Everyone had been served before us even people that had arrived a good 25mins after we had ordered. I would recommend that the staff at this restaurant take a course in customer services!! I have never been so appalled by the quality of service in an establishment such as this. Needless to say I won't be returning...EVER!!!

terrible food and attitude
Thursday June 9th, my boyfriend and I had a few drinks and a meal at your pub. The bar staff were fantastic. The food was terrible: I had steak which cost me 10.95 which is average but only if it tastes good, the sauce which cost me an extra 1.50 was like milk not the consistency of a sauce at all. My boyfriend is a vegatarian so had a pie which had very litle inside it and te accompanying vegetables were not enough to feed a six stoner let alone a burley bloke. I did complain only to be told by the food manager that basically tough luck. I went away feeling very 'ripped off' and his customer care was non-existent. The saddest thing is that the managers have lost an awful lot of business from that incident because we eat out alot and have lots of friends and colleagues whom we will be telling our story and definitely not recommending the Osbourne to anyone. I was going to have a birthday gathering for my son's 18th and also my friend was going to have her 40th at the osbourne. If you think that each person of the group knows another 10 to which they would have recomended good food then that amounts to thousands along the line.

Would be our local if it was closer!
We have been to the Osborne a few times since the referbishment.
Although busy due to popularity, we have always found that the food is worth waiting for, especially the puddings! The waiting staff are always on the ball and polite. Will be back there soon!

A good meal and great atmosphere
The new Landlords Jenny and Paul are doing a great job since the renovation and although it's apparent that they are understaffed for the new popularity of the pub, they should be praised for keeping the staff motivated and the customers happy.

Dreadful service and food!!!!
We visited on Tuesday 19 April as a party of 6 adults. Having telephoned beforehand and been advised that we could not book as it was a weekday but it wouldn't be a problem. We were therefore surprised that it was difficult to get a table however a very kind waitress eventually found a table for us.
When we ordered our meals, we were advised that the wait was approximately 40 minutes. This was OK as we were having a drink and catching up on things, however after 1 hour and 10 minutes we were still waiting! When we queried the whereabouts of our meals, we were told it would be around another 10 minutes - 25 minutes later and another 2 trips to the bar to chase our meals, they finally arrived, a total wait of 1 hour and 35 minutes!!
All of the meals were only lukewarm and one of the orders was wrong! Where had they been to only be lukewarm we asked ourselves. At this point, we were so starving hungry that we just made our dissatisfaction known to both the waiting staff and the landlord and then ate them! One of the party had a steak & tanglefoot ale pie which had obviously been microwaved as the meat inside was indeed hot but also dry and the pastry was like a rock!
When we finished and very begrudgingly paid for the meal, we again made our dissatisfaction known. The waiting and bar staff were most apologetic - the landlord? WELL, HE'D DISAPPEARED!!!
We certainly won't be returning or recommending you to anybody, indeed we will be ensuring that as many people as possible (including the brewerey know just how bad your pub now is!

sunday lunch
We were a family party of 4 and were advised of 40-45 minutes wait for our order of 4X roast beef.
True enough it took the full 45 minutes to come, & then the food was warm but not hot oh, and the baked spuds were under done. After our order, waiting time went up to 1 1/2hrs which is ridculous. Staff friendly and helpful, pity if they suffer for the bad planning and management. Sorry you'll have to do much better before we'll eat there again.

praise
My wife and I with our son and d-i-l an 2 grandchildren were with you last Saturday for lunch. We were most impressed, the ambience was good, the food was excellent and very well presented, and the staff very helpful. The younger members returned the following day. If we have a criticism it is the long wait for the puddings - those who just had coffee had finished and were ready to go before our puddings arrived. Perhaps this could be looked at. But by and large - well done!

Mrs. J. Waters
sunday lunch
We came to try your sunday lunch with our two well behaved five year olds today. We had a wait, which we expected as it was a sunday, however we did not expect, or were even advised that the wait would be over an hour. When the food arrived the order was wrong, the food was luke warm and the salad garnish had also been waiting at least an hour in a hot kitchen. This cost us 36.40, not value for money by anyone's standards! However, I would like to add that the waiting and bar staff were very good, polite and helpful. It is surely unfair to treat your staff in this way too, as they are the ones who are faced with complaints, and there certainly plenty of those! We will not be visiting again and will not bem recommending you to any of our friends. Yours disappointedly, j.waters.
