Took mother here for her birthday
Dad used to take her here every year for their anniversary
😢 dad passed away last year so I thought I would take her here for her birthday 🎂
I had cream of mushroom 🍄 soup 🍜 for my starter and Mother had 🍅 Tomatoe soup with a bay leaf 🍃 on top.
We both also had a coffe as I was driving
And I never drink🍷 any 🍺 alcohol when I am driving .
Mother had a 16oz 🥩 Steak with 🍟 Chips and peas and onion rings and some 🍏 apple 🍎 sauce with some piping hot gravy
I had 🐓 🐥 Chicken in a basket with fried 🥔 Potatoes an onion bargee and baked beans with some 🐷 Pigs in blankets
The 🥘 Meals were top notch
For pudding I had Jam Rolly Polly with lashings of custard and a blob of Devonshire Clotted cream.
Mother had a Knickerbocker glory and a 🍑 Peach Melba sauce which she hadn’t had since she was a Girl when she lived in St Anne’s on Sea
I will Award 🥇 the 🌓 Moon on Water 💧 5 Rossettes and compliments to the chef

Loved the place was my old local!
I have many happy memories of this place! Used to have some right laughs with Scotchie (Carol) & the rest of the ladies darts team! Never seen her move so fast as the afternoon the dwarf woman came in selling raffle tickets for charity! Lol

The Ducie is probably one of the friendliest bars in and around Manchester city centre. If your looking for somewhere full of the local 'art' scene posers or wannbe bohemians then the Ducie probably aint for you. If, on the other hand, your looking for a reasonably priced pint, a bite to eat and some quality live music on a weekend then I head in there on your way into town (you'll probably be surprised at how long you end up staying)

I'm surprised more students dont head in on there way into the northern quarter with the prices and the live music. It looks a bit like an old mans boozer from the outside but its a hidden nugget.

The staff are all really chatty and up for a laugh (ones a stand up comedian!) and the locals seem like a friendly bunch too!

This is more than a friendly pub, more than a fashionable bar, more than an early morning meeting place where you can select the best quality food and coffees in Manchester

The Ducie is the true oasis in Manchester

Live Music. Comedy Nights, courteous bar staff, and so much much more

If your going to Manchester for any reason You just have to visit the Ducie Bridge

Music, Bands, Comedy, Football. Quiz Nights

Ask yourself these few simple questions.

Do you like good live music?

Do you like drinks and food at affordable prices?

Do you want to be entertained for free?

The Ducie Bridge is your local pub, in the heart of the city.

Booked a table for three for a birthday (friend 88 years old). Service after ordering was slow, and soup cold when arrived and was sent back. Main course (one gammon & egg and 2 leek & potato pie) was ok but potatoes and vegetables lukewarm. Although the pub was very quiet we were seated in a shabby area with ripped and worn seats.

 Overpriced with poor service
This used to be one of my favourite pubs for both a meal and or a few drinks, but recently it has gone downhill. Prices have increased. Food quality and portion sizes have decreased. Staff are pretentious and seen to find customers an inconvenience. Children are made to feel unwelcome how ever well behaved they are.

 Great Meal!
Had a lovely meal at the three arrows, nice freshly prepared food and really friendly staff, also easy to get to and from, as its just off junction 19 of the M60. Nice and quiet, and with very eye catching arrangements of furniture and interesting things on the walls - lots to catch your attention without being 'overdone' at all. The garden is nice too, we were lucky enough to go on sunny day!

 fun saturday!
we managed to just get to the three arrows the other saturday to grab a decent meal - pretty good quality with a good pint too - then stayed to 'watch' a bit of the schools night theme, which was fun, it was good that several things can happen in this pub at once - you can get involved in what's going on or just sit and have a quiet drink and chat - there's enough room for it to be multi purpose, and i liked the traditional feel mixed with something a bit more up to date. Nice, fun, relaxing all in all.

 Poor Quality - Poor Service
I have visited this pub last week and we had to leave most of our food as it wasn't very nice! When i asked to speak to the manager, the staff didn't seem to be bothered about my complaint.
There is another Three Arrows in Heywood which is far better, go there instead.

 Fab night!
We went to eat one at the 3 arrows one night recently and couldn't believe the quality of the food. I reckon there's not enough traditional food going on these days and this pub does that big time. I had a brill steak with huge chips and my mate and his girlfriend tucked into a seabass something that they both enjoyed greatly. The other thing that went down well was the beer - not enough ale around these days either, so i stocked up. Some of us are thinking of going back to one of the party nights soon.

 Real Ales are back
I was in there yesterday June 18th 2011, the new owner Sylvia has brought back Tim Taylors Directors and Otter beers, they have a wide range of other beers, Carlsberg, Stella, Carling, San Miguel, Guinness, Tetleys Smooth, Boddingtons, Strongbow as well as the usual wines and bottles.

She has spent a lot of time ond money cleaning the place up with a repaint inside and out too, A new kitchen with good food is planned for next month too.

Give it a try, its one of only a few old style pubs left

Had our office Christmas dinner there today and were really disappointed. WE had eaten there in the past and been very pleased, but today the turkey was plastic and the gravy tasteless. The plates were cold and there was no stuffing.
In addition the pub was cold and there were no crackers or other festive novelties. The whole place was miserable.
The Arrows is under new management and the shortcomings were blamed on the previous incumbents. Our complaint was dealt with in a very rude manner. An altogether unpleasant experience.

We go to this pub regularly and find the food and service very good. With the oak beams and very homely interior its a pleasure to visit. We were there for my birthday last night with our family and the food was excellent. The staff do their best to make the evening a special one. Its best to reserve a table when there is a large party as the place gets very busy. Incidentally, there was a free bottle of wine included.

The Bridgewater Hotel in Worsley has undergone a total transformation from a dirty noisy expect trouble type of pub full of ridiculously loud music, yobs and televisions on every wall and even over some of the windows, to a place where families are welcome and people can relax and enjoy good food and a good range of cask beers. It is now a very pleasant experience to use the pub, as I do on most days/evenings, where the clientel have improved tremendously and people of all ages can eat, drink and talk together. I now rarely visit either of the other two pubs in the village which have replaced the Bridgewater in terms of noise, scruffiness and yobbish behaviour. Pay the place a visit, you will enjoy the experience.

What a hidden gem! The Three Arrows was recommended to me recently so i decided to seek it out and give it a try- we are so glad we did. The food was purely restaurant standard with dauphinoise potatoes to die for!
Everything was cooked to perfection and clearly nothing was frozen - which makes such a change. The dishes were well put together and original- My friend had a corned beef hash topped with bacon and poached egg it was fantastic. It was this a saturday night and the atmopshere was great - the staff couldn't do enough for you, we will definatly be going again- Full marks Three Arrows.

 One of the best
I was one of a party of 10 there on Xmas day and I have to say we all found it a most pleasant experience. The food was fab, far better than we expected and it was certainly freshly cooked. As an ex-food critic, and a restauranteur myself in a previous life, I give it 10 out of 10. The service was warm, friendly and efficient and I would heartily recommend it. In fact, we've already booked for next Xmas. Well done The Three Arrows.

my lawer friend got her head kicked and stomped on in front of bouncers in this pub they all pretended they didnt see anything to police and landlord went hysterically crazy and aggressive at me when he realised police were coming and locked me out with the attackers.they are all in on the act its a really bad dive with head kicking events weekly!

 Botched lettering on front
The Ryal Oak, Pendlebury had new lettering added to the exterior over a year ago. On either side it's just fine but on the front facing Bolton Road, instead of reading as....
ROYAL OAK as it should it doesn't have a space between Royal and Oak and looks daft as ROYALOAK.

What a cowboy job eh?

 to the truth
With Ref to this pub being haunted and it being in a mag, this is very true. My mother (Pamela Guest)wrote the article which was featured in The Unexplained magazine. We only lived in the pub for one year, think it must have been 84 or 85.

 Great atmosphere, friendly staff
The Bulls Head in Astley looks great inside and out.
The staff are friendly, and the regular patrons are a great laugh.
Meals are lovely, and in the summer, it's wonderful to sit out in the beer garden.
It is quite full of local students though, and whilst they all behave themselves, it can seem as though they are only catering for a younger crowd.
Other than that, a great place to go with friends for a quiet (or depending on the night) loud drink.

 Something out of Shameless
The Tudor (former Flying Machine) is a place where you will pretty much be entertained for the evening - the short description should probably explain why.

On the important things the beer is very good with Kronenberg/Carlsberg Export served in glasses which ensure the pint retains it's head throughout. You will also find staff very helpful. Pub quiz on Mondays also very entertaining.

 Avoid - especially at weekends
Once the best pub in the area, those days are long gone. Recents years have seen the place slip, the weekend discos attracts a crowd from other areas are both intimidating and loud. Locals mainly use the other pubs which have now overtaken the Bridgewater.

 What a fantastic meal
Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff on what was a really nice meal. There were six of us out for a birthday meal and we came across this place by accident and what a pleasant accident it turned out to be. Will definately go back and very soon.
Monday, January 30, 2006Rating: rosettes

Although the downstairs area can get crowded, this is a very pleasant place, really nice attention to detail in the decorating too, it's also quite open plan whilst still having distinct areas. The drinks are reasonably priced, the food is also well priced and delicious, and the staff are friendly. Also if you end up upstairs, the decor up there is very nice too, and lots of room and seating for a function etc, with its own bar. The toilets are also nice and clean.

 A True Local
I wouldnt at all call this a family pub or anything, it's a local boozer where the locals go to get plastered and stuff, my grandad goes there nightly and has for as long as I've been alive, but in general it looks a bit of a rough place, only popped in once a long time ago, didnt want to stay in there so left quickish.
Wednesday, January 18, 2006Rating: rosettes

It's not called Land O Cakes anymore, it seems to have been renamed the Lord Attenbury or something similar. Doesnt look as hospitable now, I think they've moved more towards it being a hotel than a pub now.
Wednesday, January 18, 2006Rating: rosettes

Truly truly horrible! This place might be good at night, I dont know, but during the daytime and evening it's a complete dive, the drinks are hideously overpriced and the seating areas have a lot to be desired. They dont seem to have a cleaner as the floors and table tops seem to be sticky most of the time, wouldnt DARE go into the toilets! The staff werent particularly friendly either. I left just before a daytime punch up started too. Horrid. Really needs to be gutted, cleaned, and re-fitted.
Wednesday, January 18, 2006Rating: No rosettes

Although you wouldnt think it to look from outside, inside it's very spacious, many places to sit without being crammed in. The food portions werent huge but were still very good and tasty (but Im sorry, dont put a portion of chips in a small bowl, no one likes that!). Nice clean toilets and friendly/efficient staff too!
Wednesday, January 18, 2006Rating: rosettes

 Not bad.
It's a bit weird really, you have to walk through a long bar area where tons of people sit at tables drinking and smoking heavily and staring at you as you walk in (makes it feel unfriendly), in order to get to the family/food area. I just think its weird to have to walk through a long very smoky area to get to the non-smoking area! When you get there it's comfy though and the food is very nice. The toilets are down a very long flight of stairs in some basement it seems, and have a LOT to be desired in terms of cleanliness and modern decor.

Opposing view to that of EAJ
EAJ says that the pub empties by 9.30 on a Saturday but I don't know which Saturday he was talking about. My husband and I went in last Saturday and had meal, which by the way was excellent, and the pub was still busy at 11 o'clock when we left. We were served by polite staff and the atmosphere was brilliant. We will definitely go back again now that it has been refurbished and there isn't any fighting to avoid. Also can I add that the new landlady and landlord were visible which was a nice change from the norm.

 its good
I go to the bridge quite a bit and i enjoy it. It is as good a night out as town. Its gets absolutely packed and that can be abit much sometimes. Very busy on friday aND SUNDAY. pLAY A LOT OF DANCE MUSIK (WHICH IM NOT REALLY INTO) BUT ON A FRIDAY IF YOU REQUEST RNB THEY PUT IT ON FOR YOU. Good night out but the only downfall is the drinks are abit pricey. Apart from that its a good night! Just dont go all the time or it can get abit boring because it does tend to be the same atmosphere everytime you go! Should check it out though!!

 very, very friendly
I'm a lager drinker, but the bitter drinkers tell me there is no better place for it in Manchester. The atmosphere and decor is friendly and welcoming. The landlord, Rob Carroll, is a real character, and a friendly and welcoming publican, who is very talkative and amusing. Buy Rob a Guinness and ask him about the history of the pub, or Moston, and he'll be able to give you an insightful and interesting story. The Barmaids are all very beautiful, and if you're not careful, you could spend your time in the Blue bell just admiring their beauty. A pub well worth visiting.
