 refurb
couldnt beleive the difference since the refurb, has gone from slightly intimidating to a welcoming friendly pub and one that i have started to use regularly. Its comfortable and offers a good basic range of beer with two Greene King real ales plus a guest.Sometimes at night they revert to plastic rather than glass due to police intervention but i understand they have asked for a review of this, which is good as plastic for real ale is a definate no no in my book.
The food is really reasonably priced and is good qualityfor the money.

Hop regular,
 in response to Anne
Anne, Does the pub advertise the car park? NO. Is there a sign saying pub car park? NO. Is there signs in the car park saying Private Parking? Yes! SO whos fault is it? You can hardly blame the pub or staff when you don't read the signs and make an assumption! Plus the tables and chairs are not in the car park, they are behind a screen near the pavement, i'm sure if the car park belonged to the Hop then there would be more than two tables and one heater! Only one person to blame here and it is not the pub.

 best pub
I went into this pub a few months ago now and i had a really good experience. The manager was lovely ans she was really helpful when i asked her about the food. The food tasted lovely and the service was great. The quiz was the best quiz i have been to in years we had so much fun, and the carling is only £2 a pint. I now drink in this pub every week i have to walk past 3 other pubs to get to the hop and i dont go in any off them.

clamped while having lunch in Hop and Kilderkin
We visited this pub for lunch.
When we had come out of the pub after eating we were clamped.

The carpark is joined to the rear of the pub and actually has tables and chairs for patrons in the rear of the pub in the car park.

The attitude of the staff in the pub was it happens all the time and it is not our responsibility

Not recommended because they could quite easily warn their patrons that they do not have a car park.

 What a difference!
Out with the old and in with the new! You have to go in to believe it, the atmosphere has changed so much! No more gumpy old man kicking our feet off the furniture, no more being swore at to get us to drink up of a night time! Come on old regulars, get your arses back on the seats and help the new landlady.......

Expensive with really slow service but nice decor
Nice pub with good real ales. Poor choice of lager (really strong or really weak) Terrible place to get served though. You can wait 10 minutes for your drink. Good TV screens for sport.

 GREAT GRUB!
Found this pub while walking around bournemouth as partner has moved down there with job..HUGE PLACE! lots of tv screens & big screens & as its world cup great place to view it..Seems to attract a few undesirables lets say though!..But doormen soon sort them out..Had 2 meals for £5:951 Cajin chicken & scampi & chips & lots of it!..So we tend to go here quite a bit..Great currys on a Tuesday £3:95 a curry & a pint..Which was lush i must admit..can reccomend highly!

Livemusicrocks
 Best pub in town!
For all the live music lovers, O'Neill's is THE place to go in town. Safe, friendly, fun atmosphere. In the day time, they do good, unpretentious pub-grub that's tasty and cheap. BIG beer garden for the summer as well. And the staff (who are all characters!) will even serve you at your table. What more could you ask for?

Mr Customer
 Absolutely BRILLIANT.
THE BEST pub in Bournemouth. Totally blows away all the competition; the bar staff are friendly, courteous, and may I say downright sexy! I loved every minute of it, and I've heard the food's good too!

 Good for live music.
Quite a large bar with a lot of space outside. Regular live music, although can get extremely busy and crowded.

 Cheap and cheerful.
A Wetherspoons pub in a very convenient location for bored/tired shoppers. Very large open pub with outside area and a whole floor for non-smokers. Cheap beer and good food.

 Dying breed
Practically Bournemouth's only remaining 'proper' pub (i.e. not a big chain). Real ales and a friendly atmosphere. Also a good sized courtyard beer garden.
